The Answers You Need
How many sessions of therapy will I need?
Your therapist will do a full assessment in the first session. The number of sessions varies tremendously based on the issues being addressed. Your therapist will be able to give you an estimated range of sessions needed after completing the assessment.
How will I pay for counseling?
We accept a variety of health plans including Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross, Mclaren, Meridian, Molina, HAP, and Aetna. Please check with your insurance provider regarding coverage for mental health services. When insurance is billed, you are responsible for deductibles, copays, and other amounts not covered by insurance. Please note that not all clinicians accept all insurance plans.

For those paying privately, we offer a sliding fee scale. We accept cash, checks, and credit cards.
What hours are you open?
Our therapists have a variety of schedules including daytime, evening, and Saturday appointments. Our office staff answer the phone from 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Thursday and from 9 am to Noon on Friday. If you are having telehealth issues at other times, please leave a message and we will call you back.
Parking
Our Lapeer office is located right next to Subway on M24.

Our North Branch office is located downtown between Hank's Heating and the Masonic Temple. Parking is available on the street. There is also a parking lot available one block North of Huron Street.

Our Imlay City office is located on Almont Avenue across from King and King CPA. There is parking on the street or behind the office. Please enter through the front door.
Are your services confidential?
Confidentiality is paramount to the service we provide. We, along with all health care providers, are covered by the HIPAA laws concerning confidentiality.
Please note that mental health therapists are mandated reporters in the state of Michigan. State laws require therapists to break confidentiality and take appropriate actions if someone reports that they are a danger to themselves or someone else, or if they report the abuse or neglect of a child or vulnerable adult.
Copies of our privacy practices are located on our website and at each of our offices. If you have any questions or concerns about the confidentiality of your treatment, please call the office and ask for Susan.
What are your cancellation policies?
When you schedule a counseling appointment, that time is set aside for you. It is rare that someone else can be scheduled in that spot on short notice. Please provide 24 hours notice when cancelling an appointment.
If you do not show for your appointment and do not call to cancel, a fee of $40 may be charged and all future sessions will be cancelled.
If you have concerns about how your attendance can affect treatment, please discuss this with your therapist.
What is Christian counseling?
Christian counseling explores the way that faith, spiritual practices, psychological theories, and counseling techniques can all work together to improve the mental health and quality of life of those we serve.
Don't let this scare you away. For those without Christian beliefs, we are willing to meet you where you are. We respect those with other belief systems and do not refuse treatment to anyone based on religious beliefs. If you do not want spiritual matters addressed in counseling, please let your therapist know.
